Hawaiian Grandma

This is not a picture she would've liked of herself, but an endearing side none the less (after the fact admittedly). She was always interested in the image, of how an image was framed, of perspective and color: she was an amazing artist. However, she was not a great subject, always trying to get you to take another shot, from another side, Little Miss Bossy.

On Saturday, it will be year since my grandma passed, and i hope to remember all sides of her and really, i miss her terribly all the time still...

I lost some of my most recent shots..instead of admitting defeat and that they are lost I am holding out hope they aren't and are somewhere in our tiny apartment. So I am going to be going back in time until I find them, or until I develop some more (yes, I still use film!) Enjoy 80s me...i'd just gotten my haircut in this daring short cut. A lifetime of reflective self-portraits born from this one shot?
